Relationship between beer and snacks

When you drink beer, you may want to eat salty snacks such as "potato chips" and "squid".

This is due to the potassium content in beer.

Potassium: Keeps the osmotic pressure of cells in balance with sodium. This medicine suppresses the reabsorption of sodium in the kidneys and promotes its excretion into the urine, so it has the effect of lowering blood pressure.

Looking at the chemical composition of beer, it contains 300 to 400 mg of potassium per liter. This dilutes the sodium in the blood, pushing potassium into the cells and excreting it in the urine.

That is, the body becomes sodium-deficient (lack of salt). This will make you want to eat foods that contain sodium (salt).
